Nice concept, reminds me of Flash games from back in the day. Clean graphics and sound. Perfect complexity for a jam game where anyone can pick up and figure out the controls right away.
It can get pretty fiddly to grab and drop the candies as the hitboxes are fairly small and the game can’t be put in fullscreen. Compounded with the kids blocking each others’ orders while walking on frame it can get annoying. Maybe hiding the order box until the kid has finished walking to their spot would help.
Thank you for your constructive feedback!! Now that we look back at it, we agree with you! the candy lists overlapping and small hit boxes of the candy boxes did contribute to a negative experience. I think there is a tendency to match the collision shapes with the sprite size instead of considering the "player-centric" hitbox!
Really nice game, the art and audio are very polished. Its simple but also very replayable. Good job!
Thanks for your motivating words!! We tried to focus on polish from the beginning so I'm glad some of it was noticed! Your game art was quite enjoyable as well!!
nice! looks very solid and polished. love the art style.
This is great! Did you make all the assets yourself?
Thanks for your feedback! yes I made the assets in inkscape then animated them through godot. Tried to be as simple as possible as I haven't found a good vector graphic workflow..!! We originally agreed on painted assets through krita but the original prototypes were too convulted and didn't match the aesthetic that we planned for!
Good job, I never played a Trick or Treat game. Reminded me of those sushi games I loved to play back in the day.
thanks for playing! We were hoping to get a similar feel to those crazy sushi/cooking games.. not sure if we were able to pull it off though!
