Any Premade Assets?
My basic movement script was pre-made and the crash sound effect is from Mixkit.co. All other art, music, and programming were done during the 2 days.

I love the player character and the jump animation, it definitely made the jumping feel more real. The level is great with added difficulty when you get further along. I did feel it was a bit of ghost-spam at the end, but I had fun with it! Great game!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I put a lot of enemies at the end to be kind of like a final challenge, but it's actually possible to lead the first few ghosts away and only have to throw two candies before avoiding the rest. I may have gone a bit overboard with it though since I got so used to their movement pattern that it didn't feel like it had a challenge anymore   :P

I felt the jump to be a floaty but nothing game breaking. Generally a nice, simple and charming game, good job!

Pretty cute ! Congrat !

is there a download? online version doesn't seem to work here

Developer

Sorry there isn't a download, but I'm not sure what's the issue. I just tried it and it worked, and no one else has mentioned it either.

Submitted

might have been an issue with incognito mode, worked in a regular tab

Nice concept of making the enemies move when the player doesn't look!  I found it difficult to move when I am on top of a platforms though. Overall a nice game. I brought 55 candies to home!!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Can you elaborate on what you mean by "difficult to move"? Also can you let me know where you lost most of the candy? (I tried to design it so that there wasn't anywhere that you can't just shoot or dodge the ghosts)

It was hard to move on the 'moving platforms'. these:

I lost many candies because I was mostly pressing SPACE instead of W to jump. I also lost a quite a bit of them at these moving platforms.

Developer

Oh do people generally use space to jump? Idk I'm used to 2d games with either the up arrow or w key to jump.

great music, quite some ear candy you got here! And the extension of the "Boo" from mario mechanic was enjoyable!

Developer

Thanks for playing! How well do you think the shooter mechanic worked in the game in combination with the "boo" mechanic?

Best use of limitation. Super Mario World sends hello. Awesome Entry, Top5 Overall in my books.

I really like your game ! Pretty cute, music is cool and the fact that enemies only move when we're not looking at them is pretty interesting I think.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your comment! By making the enemy only move they you are not facing them, I was trying to simultaneously fulfill the theme of "behind you" and also somewhat give the player control of the enemies' movements to maybe lead them away and avoid them instead of having to shoot them.

Neat little platformer. Good job!

Nice little game. The art was pretty cute. I found the enemy's movement kind of weird, and they didn't seem to be able to kill you... But a part from that, really enjoyed the game.

Developer

Thanks for playing! The enemies can only follow you when you are not facing them, to match the theme "behind you". The point of the enemies is also not to kill you, but to take your candies, since your goal is to get home with as much candy as you can.

Ohhhhh okay that makes more sense! Nice mechanics
