It's a spooky jam after all, so I questioned myself: how much horror can be in the game? I mean, a horror can be without blood or gore, but be disturbing ah and have some eerie imagery/sfx. But in the rules there is a point about 'no excessive horror/gore'

Hi! I'd say try to keep it "PG13" kind of thing. And feel free to put a warning in your description or at the start of your game if you feel it's necessary. We quite often have some younger game devs involved in the jams. Thanks :)
