You should bring it to a wild extreme, as in 'left click' or 'press H twice'
Maybe make the platforming slightly easier so the controls are more the struggle?
Reminded me of an exhibition I went to in Prague. They had a controller mapped to the entire alphabet and it was projected onto a massive screen, so you could write whatever you wanted but it just took a wealth of concentration to get even a coherent syllable out. So 'A' was mapped to 'L1,R2,X'. The screen was just a dense block of 'ahsdbaDsdusJhsdbWhwjjn' with people trying to communicate any semblance of anything. A few guys sat around for an hour just trying to write 'sex is cool'.
Anyway: good game.
