So we make just a game that uses a 20 second timer as whole game? or a game that uses mini tasks that are 20 seconds? I mean technically I know a game in less than 20 lines of code I can do that will run for 20 seconds xD, however if we are using all that time to Dev up a game, I'm thinking you mean 20 second tasks as opposed to actual full 20 second game???

I also found this link btw too. I'm guessing this is where we download in a week before huh? DragonRuby Game Toolkit - TeenyTiny Editio

Saraina, DragonRuby is now $0 here on itch.

Oh no worries I woulda got that one in like the 800 or so games for $5 deal, the person was giving keys away for free till I discovered I owned it and it came in a mega deal, tbh I paid less than a cent on each game/software as it stands so I practically got it free anyways as the developer is always trying to get people in it.

Hi Sarainia!

The choice is up to you. Check out some of the games from last year: https://itch.io/jam/teenytiny-dragonruby-minigamejam-2020/entries

Some people chose to use a countdown timer and the player has to try to score as many points as possible in the time. Others chose to give tasks that take approximately 20 seconds to complete. It's up to you how you want to interpret the 20 second rule and as long as your game is within the spirit of the jam, it's all good.

The jam runs for 3 weeks because we want to give everyone a chance to make a game without any stress. That includes beginners and people with busy lives. If you are able to finish your game with plenty of time left over, feel free to make more games :D There is no limit on the number of games you can submit.

The link you found is the download page from last year. This year the plan is to make the engine free here on itch.io for a limited time (check back around September 24).
