A secret saboteur mission, but from the future so, the future you must have past yous best interest at heart, right? We have to assume the future you wants the best possible outcome, but what if not completing the mission is what really messes things up pretty bad? You don't know what you've been through, what you've seen...  It's an interesting monkey wrench for someone to contemplate and deal with.
