I really like the use of skyboxes to represent different worlds. That's a smart approach.
It would be nice to have some kind of visual or audial indicator when the controls change. I was generally falling to my death before I noticed that they'd swapped.
I thought the footstep sounds were a nice touch. Impressive that you got that level of detail with such a tight time limit!
Thanks for playing!
Yeah, nice. Visually very good. Good atmosphere. I'm actually not that good on changing this kinds of condition 😉 I already go crazy with inverted mouse-options. But very good job
Thank you!
Ok, let's talk about it :)
First, the visuals and the sound/music are both fantastic. The overal athmosphere of the game is astonishingly well polished for a jam game, let alone for a 3hour game.
Buuuuut, I just don't get warm with the mechanics of changing the input controls randomly. Let me explain: as the player behind the screen I want to control the player inside the screen, right? So everything that stands in-between myself and my alter ego inside the game is disturbing. I enjoy a game the most, when it feels as I would actually not press any buttons, but directly control the in-game character and the controls almost kind of disappear in my mind. Now by randomly changing the inputs, the game forcefully pulls me out of this feeling every few seconds which is just not a great feeling tbh.
Having said that, again, I like everything else in this game and Game Jams are there to explore this kind of ambivalent territory. I just couldn't help to write down this feedback :)
Thanks for playing!
