Pretty simple but unique idea, it'd be interesting to see a mechanic like this in a more fleshed out game. It had some issues but overall a pretty good submission, especially for your first game! Good job.

I like the pseudo-serious irony, very well done! Making me think of one of my previous submission: https://martincirice.itch.io/a-fishing-game-with-a-twist

Some things need to be ironed out with the gameplay but overall a promising start Check out my review at https://www.twitch.tv/scalphamission

Very artistic submission... visually and philosophically!

Thank you :-)

Actually amazing idea, would love to see it in action in a more fleshed out game.

The player's hitbox is way too big, which paired with the slow speed very often got me in what felt like an unwinnable situation.

Developer

Thank you! I'm on the fence whether or not to try to flesh it out and fix some of the issues.

Really interesting art, good choice!

It is pretty nice, but i think that should be a cooldown between shots, that way the enemy would last little longer and the player would have to dodge the bullets a bit more.

The message at the end was funny :)

Thank you! I agree about the cooldown timer or similar mechanism. One thing I was thinking was having the enemy have an invincibility timer after being hit where it can't take damage BUT still turns the missiles hostile. It would make the gun upgrades a disadvantage which is what I was originally aiming for.

And yeah, I enjoyed writing the ending. It's kind of a tongue-in-cheek morality tale. Notice how YOU are the last opponent you face.
