i actually haven’t made it past day 2, and even that took several attempts

the tutorial level on the title screen doesn’t really introduce the concept very well. it took a long time for me to realize that my mouse was controlling both the direction and strength of the jump, but after figuring that out, it again took several tries to realize that the goal was to be near a specific frog when the timer expired; the title screen had me thinking it was just to reach them at all, and it was rather confusing when that was insufficient.

This is a fun idea, although I don't personally see how it relates to the theme of overpopulation. The controls are pretty interesting. I just wish you could cancel a jump or possibly rotate the frog after you've committed to a jump. Overall, I like the idea and the controls and the presentation is quite nice. It's a fun game :)

I like the controls, but its shame we can't cancel a jump.

Mechanically, this game is great: graphics work fine, the music supports the game (and does not get annoying) and jumping feels good, although I wish I could freely aim while charging.

On the other hand I think the game is too difficult and I was not able to survive day two:

  • the frogs should have some features that I can use to differentiate them. Tracking all of them is tedious and not fun at all
  • losing the full game when jumping into water is frustrating af (you want to tell me that frogs can't swim?!) - at least have the frog respawn on the first leaf
