I love the intro, it's very funny. The gameplay is pretty good, but the could use some polish. Overall is this a pretty good jam. Well done.
Really neat game! I loved the intro sequence a lot -- the art and the font meshed together real well and the reveal was also sublime. The title of the game makes so much sense after having played it. The player sprite was also really cute and I loved the walking animation a lot.
Props to you for having a fully functioning tile/movement system and an inventory system (they're not easy to get done within the constraints of the jam). I loved interacting with the other crew members and wished there was more of it. Only wished there was more to the game (an overarching goal to work towards or something), but that's asking for quite a lot considering that this is just a game jam lol
Here's a twitter thread that I found really useful when approaching the balance within a game (like how many credits it takes to buy a mop) https://twitter.com/tanyaxshort/status/1301990872645468160 It really helped me when approaching the balance for my jam submission.
For dialogue, I would recommend https://yarnspinner.dev/ It makes it pretty easy to do iterative development for the dialogue. It's also open source, so it's not too hard to extend it to your needs.
This was a really neat game! the way you showed your game on the page combined with the opening sequence were great. a complete flip of what i was expecting. But honestly i thought you were going to flip it on me again when i didn't see the rest of the crew on the 5th day. the music had stopped in the hall leading up to the control room so i was totally expecting to see some dead astronauts in the window. its not bad that your game didn't turn into a horror game, I'm just saying the atmosphere total changed and some ways left me disappointed when nothing did happen. there was a couple of bugs that i ran to such : unable to get some of the trash because it went through the wall, getting stuck on walls and furniture, and having a hard time on clicking on spots that were to the left and right side of the character. also the mop was ridiculously high in price for there to be nothing to get after that or to not even have a game over if i didn't clean something up in 100 days. Overall it really feels like you were so focused on the opening idea of the game that you didn't have time to add much more to it as a whole, but the little bit that you did was very enjoyable game that left me wanting more and i can't wait to see more games from you.
I liked the idea of being a janitor on a ship full of adventurers. The comic into at the beginning was fantastic. Completely top notch. I had some issues the first day because I didn't know I needed to pick up the broom to do anything, then when I had the broom it was really easy to accidentally click a second time or in the wrong spot so I ran out of energy really quickly. I am not sure what to do with the rag. I also found I would get stuck trying to round corners, but only if I had a tool in my hand. It seemed like a pretty overly high jump to pay $1,000 to get the next tool when you get very little for each paper cleaned.
