The "Games that are in very poor taste will be removed" rule scares me

I'm a solo developer who makes games to learn and have fun, but because of my inesperience (less than a year) my games often comes as unfinished or not very fun to play. My question is, aside for clariments about the meaning of this rule, is, if my game meets the criteria fo being deleted form this jam, it will be deleted ONLY form this jam, or it will be deleted also from Itch???

Also, i know that is inherent form this argument, but what it means to and do you have any tips on how to "create something unexpected"??

Games that are in poor taste (e.g. racist, sexist, contain hate speech, etc.) will be removed from the jam, but I don't control whether something gets removed from itchio. Note that I've never had to remove a game for poor taste and I don't think you'll need to worry about this.

Regarding your second question, see the bottom of the FAQ for some tips! It's also up to you to be creative in how you'll design a game where the experience is surprising and unexpected - that's part of the challenge and fun :)

Well, my interpretation of "poor taste" was "a game that isn't in a good state to play", so that's why i was fearing... Glad to know that isn't really like that... (and even if was the case, i'm sort of reliefed to hear that the build will be removed only from the jam)

And thanks for letting me notice the FAQ section!!! I'll go to see it right away!!!

Do a couple of swear words for comedic effect count as poor taste?

As long as it's not discriminatory / hate speech, curse words should be fine. Might want to put a warning in when you submit for the sake of the streamers.

Aye ok. Thanks!

Your doubts and worries are in bad taste and  will be forcefully removed if they are not addressed ;)
