How does your game apply the limitation (and optionally, the theme)?
There is a boss, and it can hurt an enemy that follows your trail (thus fullfilling "on the edge" in two ways, since you have to be next to the boss to damage the shadow).
Team Size
Solo (1)
What main engine/tool/language did you use to construct the game?
Scratch
Which diversifiers did you use, if any?
Quick Run - It's literally just a single two-phase boss fight, it'd be harder to not fall under this diversifier.

I love this game, the idea is so great
just played yours , had a great time with it. Really like the idea of a "nemesis" that mirror your movements. With a brainstorm, this idea can end up turning into several cool levels. Nice Done !
GG!! retro style looks cool.
Awesome game with a retro feel. Felt like I was playing an old arcade game. The art and animation was great and I can't wait to see more from you. Also trying to get the little enemy to get hit by the bosses attacks was a great idea!
fun quick little game, like the mechanic of having the boss hit dark you.
The fact that you pulled this off in scratch is really impressive! It had great music and controls, and you gave the player lots of feedback to figure out what was going on and how to beat da boss. The art's pretty good too, I especially like the bosses animations (his roll looks great). Great job!
that was a really quite subversion of the theme! having 2 bosses but needing 1 boss to kill the other?? really enjoyed that aspect of it. putting myself in harm's way but then evading at the last minute was really cool and felt very intentional and satisfying when pulled off correctly. i don't have much in terms of constructive criticism game design-wise! maybe adding another move to the boss's moveset could have shaken things up a bit. great job!
I’m not sure I’d call this shadow mario lookalike a boss, but sure. Still, glad you enjoyed the concept so much! I could’ve added another move to the bosses kit, but aside from obviously taking more work it’d also make it harder for the player to learn the boss. I figured keeping the moveset simple would be better (at least for the jam), especially with the shadow getting added partway through the fight.
Some great game music! Awesome concept for a game, keep it simple and avoid the main baddie! took me a couple tries to figure out what was happening but once i got it, i rocked it! Thanks for a good time
This was great! The game started up and I thought, OK, pretty simple art and animation. Nice, but nothing crazy ... then that sound kicked in! This game has some of the best sound design of all the jam games I've played. Really well done implementing that.
I was having fun just dodging the attacks, but when the shadow character dropped in and I realized what his pattern was, I was having a blast setting him up to be the punching bag in my place.
Great entry! Perfect jam length. Good work.
Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed it so much! I actually took some time before the jam to look for some music that could work, and it seems to have paid off.
im not sure if i missed somthing but i didnt know how to attack i guess there wasnt an attack no idea.
You cannot attack - maybe there’s something else you can use to deal damage…
This is a pretty cool concept. I like how the boss and player look, though the pink-ish red background is a bit eh. It controls well and only got caught on a wall once. For a game made with scratch, it's pretty cool
