What was your favorite part of the development process?
Creating the heartbeat and interaction systems for trading items.
Which tools or techniques did you discover or master during the jam?
I discovered a technique where I can create 10x10 map shard prefabs which I can then use to procedurally generate a large open map.
What’s the one thing you’re most proud of in your game?
The heartbeat system that I made for detecting when the player is nearby to enable interaction.
What was the biggest challenge you faced, and how did you overcome it?
The biggest challenges were sticking to theme and scope. I always think up an idea that is too big and wanders away from the theme, so I had to stop and reevaluate before the last day to figure out what exactly could I build with some relevance to the theme from what I had been building already.
What advice would you give yourself for the next game jam?
Find some teammates!
