False email?

Was sent an email that seems to be about this game jam but when using inspect element on the link it clearly doesn't lead to here. Just wanting to double check and also give a heads up in case someone is using this as a opportunity to scam people.

Thanks for flagging! Alex works with us and has been reaching out to devs whose games he loves. When you did inspect element, where did the link lead?

It’s possible it just had a tracking code or tracking re-direct.

Anyway, glad you’re here and appreciate you flagging again

Advice: You should tell alex to stop sending these emails. They make you seem like a scam.

yeah i also got an email just like that, telling me to submit an old game that doesn’t even meet the criteria or could be remade as a survival game! super dodgy

yeah got the same exact email, with the messed up link. definitely weird.

Yeah got another one asking if I was still interested, same nigerian prince email vibe as before

hey y’all - lol. i appreciate the weirdness of the email. alex is a partner from the production company working on this series. not intended to be sketchy and sorry for the confusion.

we relaxed the requirement to apply to be on episode 1; only a 90 second video pitch is required.

for episode 2, it’ a video pitch + a simple playable prototype.

totally hear you that the existing games don’t fit the theme. the idea wasn’t for a 1:1 port. since the rules allow you to re-use existing code, art, etc, we reached out to people who we thought might be interested in making a pitch that’s a remix of an existing game.
