The game was nice, and the controls fit nicely. The stages and trajectory worked well too. I never did find the asteroid though :( . One thing; is the comic broken or something? I went to the page and it just showed a blank page with the title [LIVE]. Any ideas?

Developer

The comic played live while the landing was taking place. I'm not sure what it will do when you view it now but you can watch it on explain xkcd or view all of the slides here.

Yeah thanks, the comic is really cool. Makes the game make a bit more sense too

I hadn't read "Landing" before this--that's a beautiful comic, and a great one to make a game out of. :)

This game is very confusing though.  The controls are not told and not obvious when playing.  It took a minute before I had started the mission and started going.  And I don't know exactly which way the comet is, so right now I'm traveling aimlessly with no real sense of purpose.  The music is beautiful and well chosen, but I have no idea what I'm doing.  I think I need to find the comet, based on the comic, but where it is is completely unknown to me.  Not helping is the fact that as I travel deeper into space, the information on the bottom-left corner of the screen becomes unreadable in the darkness.

I want to like this one, but I don't really know where to go.  Please make this clear, either in the game or in the description--it would really help.

I'm sorry to hear that you had trouble playing our game. Upon entering the game the first thing you should see is a full list of the controls and the objectives. If this is not the case, then perchance do you have an Intel or AMD graphics card? Unfortunately the game does have issues running on these due to some of the rendering requirements. We will not be able to fix this issue before the game jam is finished unfortunately.

Gotcha.  I believe my graphics card is Intel.  See on the game page that you mentioned that the game won't work on Intel & AMD graphics cards.  That's a shame; do you know why this is? :(

This is pretty cool, like a simplified Kerbal Space Program. I like that you were able to plot the ship's trajectory as well.

I did have to download a couple of dll's just to get it to run, though.

Developer

Thanks! We're stoked you like it.

What DLL's were missing? Clearly I've missed something in my build, but I'll add them in for everyone else.

It was missing msvcp140.dll and vcruntime140.dll. I only knew because I got error messages telling me they were missing.
