I'd fancy making a VR game, but considering a lot of people don't have VR and it might be a hassle to set up, could making a PC  VR game still be viable?

As it is community voted, I'd say no. The more people can play your games the more they can vote for it. I don't think we'll have VR setup on the day during the stream either.
