5. The factions combined stake out most of the area
6. The protagonists are outsiders by moral and appearance
7. The only ones willing to help the protagonists are themselves outsides
8. A member of a faction has an advanced weapon that they fetish over
9. Individual members of the warring factions are dumb as hell but a real danger when they group up
10. The factions can be played against each other
11. Protagonists are seen as unstoppable pains-in-the-asses
