Lilac & Her Light is a simple, mildly sapphic retro-style game that took me about 30 minutes to play. It's pay what you want, which can be $0 or more. It's a sweet story led by two isolated women who are unhappy with their circumstances. They find something meaningful in each other's company as they explore a lonely, darkness-drenched mountain together, and maybe break into a town shop in the middle of the night on their way there.
The graphics are simple but get what you need to know across. The gameplay is mostly walking around and examining things, with some cute flavor text and dialogue, but when it gets to chasing the cat it does not work well (at least it's just one small part of the game). The music is lovely and really contributes to the specific vibe of the game.
If you're expecting explicit romance here you won't find it, but you won't find explicit platonic talk either. The leads are still defining what they are, and I think that's just fine.
Happy to have supported this dev with $5 for this one.
I love this game! It's kind of cute.
