Interesting take on the commercialization and co-opting of self-care as a distraction from real problems. I do think self-care is important and should be discussed, and taught, yet I'd never thought of the darker undertones that you point out.
It would be interesting to know how many self-care teachings/programs are coming from sources whose primary goal is their own self-enrichment in some form or another. I hope you are able to return to being creative and find creative outlets despite the pressures of life!
