Devlog #2: Leveling Up My Game Dev Skills

Date: 22-6-2024

Introduction: Hey everyone! I wanted to give you all a quick update on my current focus and future plans for "Monster Metamorphosis". As you all know, game development is a multifaceted craft that involves a lot of skills, including audio design, art, game design, and programming.

Improving My Skills: To ensure that "Monster Metamorphosis" becomes the best game it can be, I’ve decided to take some time to improve my skills in these key areas. Over the next few months, I will be working on a series of smaller projects aimed at honing my abilities in:

  • Audio: Creating immersive soundscapes and sound effects.
  • Art: Enhancing my pixel art and animation skills.
  • Game Design: Experimenting with different mechanics and gameplay styles.
  • Programming: Strengthening my coding skills and learning new techniques.

Current Project:  I'm currently working on a small platformer with the goal of completing a polished, finished game. This project is a great way to bring together all the skills I'm learning and put them into practice. The platformer will include various levels, enemies, and challenges designed to test my design and programming skills. I can't wait to share it with you all!

Smaller Projects: These smaller projects will not only help me build my skill set but also provide you with some fun and engaging mini-games to enjoy. Each project will focus on a specific aspect of game development, allowing me to practice and refine my techniques.

Looking Ahead: I believe that by dedicating time to these smaller projects, I will be better equipped to tackle the challenges of developing "Monster Metamorphosis". I’m excited to share my progress with you and appreciate your continued support and patience as I work to become a better game developer.

Thank you for following along with this journey. Stay tuned for more updates and sneak peeks into these smaller projects!

Best reagrds,

 Sti-Jin
