You need to gather bones before shooting.Once you gather some, you'll have them turning around you. Then you'll be able to throw them away.

Oh I see. It seemed that I was locked in a room with some enemies right of the bat though.
You need to defeat the enemies to open the doors.
To get bones you need to kill enemies.
You can Dash trough enemies to kill them at first but be careful, touching enemies hurts you a bit. Avoid contact the most you can and use bones to kill them if you can.
