I have managed to reliably reproduce crashes.
When you are in a cutscene/conversation, and it expires, it puts you in navigation mode (moving around town, house, etc.). If, at the point the navigation mode engages, your mose is over any interactable item on the screen (door, person, town location and even the hint on the left side), it will cause a crash.
