This is a common issue right now. It's caused by trying to use a save from a previous version. Unfortunately a bunch of stuff got changed back end which means they are no longer compatible. You'll have to start a new file.
Thanks for explaining the problem... but, I think I'll leave it at that. Starting again is impossible. Thanks for the story, it has a lot of potential.
