Don't want to seem insensitive but you don't need to be a woman to play a game with a fem MC... you know what i mean? Like nothing about what game with what mc you are playing is going to change what you identify as. Same would go for tv shows or books wouldn't it? Plus you can also just think of an OC. I'm a cishet woman and I still can play games with male mc's, or with ppl in queer relationships. I just think of OC's, even when playing games where I can choose the gender, in some routes I play as a woman and in some as a man. 

But yeah, I think it's super weird, at least in some cases here these ppl not wanting to play games with female mc's borders on misogyny at this point. It's like only in games with female mc's we have ppl asking about an option to choose genders or whatever. Like normally you only see such behavior with cishet men so that's why yikes. Interestingly I've also read about nonbinary players that somehow can play games with male mc's or where you can choose the gender but they won't play games with fem mc's (some without doubt bc they are just fetishizing bl - i'm saying that as a bl reader). And then i'm like where does the gender disphoria end where does the internalized misogyny begin, if we have ppl avoiding games bc they have female leads. I think it's awesome when a game lets one choose with the MC. But i would never avoid a game bc it doesn't have a female lead. And same should go for other ppl with other genders. The game is good, just play it. :) not like it makes soo much difference
