I've got it running on Linux, but I don't think there's a way to get it working with anything other than a keyboard and mouse.
I actually played through it with just the Steam Deck. The touch pads work well for everything a mouse would be used for.
Surprised that works, considering all the comments that were complaining about controller support. Cool that it worked!
