I have heard that controls for shadows are a bit clunky and I will try to fix that when jam ends. In order to place a shadow you have to in order:
- When inside a shadow - press x+ down arrow to enter shadow control mode
- From that press S to enter shadow transmutation
- Press left or right/ up or down arrows (depends on shadow ,it will be visible in menu) to transmute shadow from one direction until you fill a 1 segment on the bar.
- Press X to return to shadow control panel
- Optionally press Z to enter move shadow, then arrows to move it, press X to return to shadow control menu
- Press C to enter shadow placing menu.
- Select which shadow to place using left and right arrows
- Press C to confirm selection
- Use arrows keys to select location for a shadow
- Press C again to place shadow in game world - if shadow can't be placed in that spot it will glow red when trying to place it (it can't be placed on ground, enemies, etc. Also it can't be placed directly above players head, only certain distance from that.)
If you want to revert shadow placement when in shadow placement mode press Z. All transmutation and and placed shadows will also revert if you move too far from the shadow.
