The wave selector definitely gives you creativity points. I could see a really interesting "time killer" type mobile game based on that idea.

I found myself stuck on wave 2, probably because i had no idea when the next meaningful upgrade was coming (due to the grayed out buttons),

thanks, yea i definitely could have given better feedback to players about when you can unlock weapons, and upgrade them.  basically first base upgrade lets you unlock weapons, second lets you upgrade their stats. currently the scaling is super messed up though in the game scales way faster than you can achieve upgrades. this would have been something i like to work on but with the limited time, (and me starting 2 days late) I just didnt have the time so i pushed it out as is. the game basically forces you to farm wave 2 until you have base upgrade 2 and upgrade weapons a few times before you can move up in waves.
