even though I'm a grown adult with a job and had no problem affording this game, that doesn't mean it's as simple as you're making it out to be. think about it from the perspective of say, a 12-15 year old who has no card (meaning no way to buy anything online) and no way to get money. due to whatever circumstance they're in. (not everyone has neighbors or parents that need help and are willing to pay them, not everyone is permitted to do things outside of their parents' permission. even if they got cash, how would they spend it on THIS game unless they gave their parents the money and somehow got permission to use their card for the purchase? not every parent is that understanding of stuff like that. every person's circumstance is different.) sure, $5 is absolutely nothing when you're a grown adult, especially one with a job, but as someone who has BEEN in this position, I can attest to the fact that $5 is a pretty big deal to a child who has to go through their parents or another adult they know in order to make a digital purchase, especially if they're a family that's tight on money... so I think them wanting to know whether or not the game will ever be free to play is a completely valid thing even if i, myself,  have no problem with the fact this game is paid. they're children. there isn't very much they can do.

or... they could just give their parents the 5 bucks and have them use their credit card to buy the game..?

That's if their parents let them do that in the first place.

why shouldn't they? what do they have to lose? if the kid give you the money and it's a safe site, what do they have against it?

because not all parents understand the internet and trust their payment details being logged into a site that's unfamiliar to them lol
