Managed the last level in 00:25.34 and a combined 1:14 overall. This is a fun little racer and I could see this going further as a project. My only critique would be making the boost not stop the player (even though the stopping and going is clearly the pulse from the jam). Might be interesting to instead have the player use consecutive inputs be the driving forward mechanic? Would still keep the pulsing but not stop the gameplay.

This is an excellent showing for a 48hr jam! Fantastic work!

Thank you so much for the feedback! Its a lot like the other bit of feedback im getting. Ive thought about it, and having your break be the one button is kind of the core concept, if you have seen Kirby Air Ride, that's what im going for. With my own flavour of course. But essentially I think the issue is in the game feel more generally, right? Stopping kind of halts the gameplay, it should be more smooth and kinetic. Which referencing Kirby Air Ride, I need to put more "drift" in the "Drift Blast" or in other words it shouldnt stop completely, it should start drifting which I wasnt quite sure of how to achieve during the jam, but I have some ideas to try. Again, thanks for the feedback, it really helps to know that this is the primary issue with the current controls.
