The new ones certainly make her look more adorable, though I think the shadow under the eyes on the happy was toned down a bit much.
I see watchu mean, in this case it's to remove the sinister vibe from the old expression and to give her more of a genuine smile, but in other expressions where her eyes are bit wider, she does have bigger bags under her eyes c:
