I noticed you mentioned that the straight route can be avoided, but I can't help but wonder why every time a female character is introduced, the narrative puts so much emphasis on her body and Lukas's reaction to it ( like with Althea in the library or Sally in the alleyway ), even when straight points are at zero. I thought that since I was interested in Sally's male form, "Sylas," she would consistently present herself as Sylas in every encounter, which would make sense if we rejected her and have zero int points with her. Instead, she ends up groping us without consent in the restroom as Sally, and honestly, I just want to tell her to back off.
It seems there's been more effort to ensure that gay and trans content can be fully avoided, like making their nudity optional and implementing gay points checks before scenes where a male character is half-naked. For instance, when you visit Chase, the scene changes significantly based on whether Lukas leans straight or gay—if he's more straight, Chase is fully dressed, but if he's gay, Chase is half-naked. However, that same consideration isn't given to those who want to completely avoid straight scenes. Sally's nudity in her succubus form is only lightly ( not at all ) covered by wisps, and there's a noticeable delay between when her sprite shows up and when the wisps do. I wish we had the option to turn off her sprite or at least have her dressed, along with the ability to tell her to keep her hands and flirtations to herself or just simply have her present as Sylas for the remainder of the story especially if she is planning to molest us in a certain scenes. Not to mention Stella's nudity which wasn't censored at all, even when she was cloacked we had a glimpse of it, i just wish female characters stopped fondling us. I don't think if it was male characters having a feel of Lukas it would be well received by the straight audiance leading to riots in the comments.
When a male character makes a move on Lukas ( like when Professor Rojas offers private lessons ), it only registers once we confirm our interest through the choice that raises int points with that character, the professor doesn’t touch Lukas until we choose we want to pursue him, Lukas then reacts to the attention, blushing and all. In contrast, when a female character appears, Lukas is all over her ( getting hard ons ) from the start without the player input on wether we are interested. Honestly, the photography professor is quite uncomfortable, touching Lukas without consent. If we're not interested, instead of being able to tell her directly ( her and Sally when we meet her for the first time ), we have to come up with weak excuses, while we can clearly tell Professor Rojas ( and other male LIs ), “I’m not interested.”
I usually steer clear of games with a male MC and both male and female love interests because they often prioritize the latter, but after seeing that this visual novel was well-received and that you promised equal screen time for both genders and the option to avoid unwanted content, I decided to give it a shot. Initially, I was drawn in by the art and then fell in love with the story. Lukas is such a sweet character ( though I wish he could stand up to Jade, Stella, and Sally the way he does with Chase—it's frustrating to see him toughen up and man up around male characters but soften and mellow out around the female cast, let me turn the ladies down and give them a piece of my mind instead of being shoved around by them ). Each character has a unique voice and their own parallel storylines.
I just wish the straight content didn't overwhelm the experience. I believe implementing checks for straight and gay points before straight scenes would help filter out those uncomfortable moments where Lukas reacts to female characters in ways that feel forced, i want to ogle the male cast too, I think it would be good to have Lukas eyes wandering the male LIs bodies the same he is doing with the ladies. It would also be great if you could revisit the Althea library scene and any other instances that make Lukas attracted to female love interests and their “attributes” despite choosing the gay path, as well as allow for the option to avoid female nudity entirely. I think the scene in the alleyway was a good idea to set Lukas sexuality, and I think choosing to look at the guy, girl or both should set the stone for the rest of the story presenting the player with their desired content.
I hope you find this feedback constructive and that I’m not overstepping by suggesting these changes and pointing out some disparities. I genuinely hope that these considerations can be implemented, especially since feedback for adult games on itch.io can sometimes be overlooked since now the adult tag doesn’t show up in the search bar but has to be typed in order to show VNs that fall into this category.
