Very cool game! Unfortunately, the game ended just as I was starting to get invested in it, but I get it, this is a jam game, and I know how hard and time consuming it is to design good puzzle levels (I learned the lesson with this https://oddeyes.itch.io/squareish), so I can't really blame you.
I hope you will "expand" (pun intended) the game in the future because it was really fun!
If you do, here's a couple of suggestions and ideas for new levels:
- Maybe don't give the player a limited number of thermal disks, so that levels can be more challenging (and also, since each level already has only a small number of expandable/shrinkable platforms), then rate the solution of the player with a rank depending on how many thermal disks were used;
- Try to make the expansion and contraction of platforms more predictable (meaning they always expand and contract by the same amount, so that puzzles can become more skill based rather than trial-and-error based)
- Maybe make platforms expandable and shrinkable more than once, for example make each platform be expandable by x2 if you use a thermal disk, then x2 again if you use another one, ecc...
Again, the is very nice, loved the animations and the concept, reminiscent of the "Mario vs Donkey Kong" Nintendo franchise, let me know if you add more levels as I'm looking forward to play more of this :D
