The setting is quite interesting, and I found it very cool that the "audience" makes remarks about what the player is doing, very original!
I was unable to finish the game. I can't pick up the broom. The character says it's picking it up, but it doesn't go in the inventory. If I leave the kitchen and return, the broom is back there, but I still can't pick it up.
Feels like a bug. If it isn't, let me know and I'll try to make progress some other way. If there is a happy path in that puzzle to avoid the broom issue, let me know too, I'd still love to finish the game.
