The strangeness of the images ("the shell of an immense porpoise," "strange grapes") and the luridness of the colors are such an effective contrast to the really structured sequence of steps. And the music really adds to the vibe. It definitely works as a standalone toy (and it's interesting that you are thinking of this generator as a toy, too).
