Awesome job on Knockback!

Its a lot of fun slaying minions with my family over a LAN.  So thank you for adding LAN capabilities!  So much better than split-screen or couch gaming.

One thing I noticed is by the 3rd wave, the game slows down to almost a crawl while spawning the minions.  I'm using Linux over a gigabit LAN... does this happen in Windows?

Specs:

  • Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon
  • AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor × 3
  • 8GB Corsair DDR3 1333
  • Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 (3GB)
  • Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 Motherboard

So sorry for the slow response. I'm not aware of any slowdown that should happen while you're playing on the LAN 3rd wave, but I haven't updated the itch.io app in a while. Really glad you're enjoying it with your family! Your machine looks plenty beefy enough to host. Although I will note that the server does most of the heavy lifting so you'll definitely want that to be your beefiest machine.

I'm not sure I can send you a DM in itch, but if you join the discord or shoot an email to info@pluckyrat.com I'm happy to shoot you an alpha key (or a few) on steam for you to test the latest version.

Thanks!

Thank you, I'll try to private message you on itch.io first.

Nice Man I use Linux too (Void) good to know I'm not the only one using Linux around here. I also use steam.

Yes, Linux is my only gaming OS these days.

I actually have 6 PCs setup in a LAN all with Mint 19.3

My daughters each have a desktop with Mint and my media center connected to the TV has Mint.

I test a lot of games in Linux on a regular basis... check out our posts and guides:
