I'm working on my video for this demo and I'm soooo bummed to find out that the music that plays throughout the entire demo gets copyright claimed. And it's in a way that will be very hard to edit out. Something like that will stop me from buying the full version because putting together a video can take hours and I don't like to let it just get claimed for music that I never chose to use. I understand that devs buy a license for music sometimes (I don't know if that's the case here) but that doesn't cover everyone else who makes a video for it. Very nice demo, probably my favorite in a while, but it has me thinking twice about wishlisting it now.

That's super weird because that song is a royalty-free song. I plan to make all the music myself for the full release (including the "copyrighted" one), but I just ran out of time for the demo. Frankly, I'm completely alone in this project.

I'll try disputing it and see what happens. Maybe it just claimed it because of some other music box audio that someone has in youtube's system. Which is stupid that they can even claim something like that since many music box songs will sound similar. This is what the claim said:

Music Box For Suspenseful Scenes - Vasya Sakal

Content owners: HAAWK for a 3rd Party

And hit the video so obnoxiously that I can't even use youtube's tools to edit the music.

To be fair, Youtube's Claim System is notoriously unfriendly to fair-use because pretty much anyone can claim anything for any reason and gain the benefits until someone does something about it which rarely happens because most people don't bother wanting to go through the hassle of fighting it.

Update on the copyright claim.. I disputed it yesterday and they already released the claim. So everyone should just dispute it if they get claimed for that music. It's probably some idiot who is auto-claiming a music box song, which shouldn't even be allowed since many music boxes will sound similar.

Thank god. Good job mate!
