Getting caught feels a bit abrupt - it'd probably help if the exclamation mark appeared over the Unusually Vigilant Adult's head instead of the player, and was a bit easier to see in general. The lack of audio is also hurting a bit - some footsteps would probably help see them coming from off-screen. I will echo that having to restart the whole game after getting caught three times is kind of a pain. Besides that, its a fine enough game - I went back four times while writing this to try to actually finish it :]
