It might just be me but this game is way too hard.
The amount of time given to you to complete quests/get an ending that isn't the basic one paired with the pretty crappy and useless abilities (especially at the start) as well as a whole heap of other things just make this game incredibly difficult and incredibly boring to play.
The game itself is good, the art is good, the music is good everything about it and its entire concept is fantastic, unique and amazing! And I love that about the game but the difficulty of it completely ruins it for me.
I have tried on countless occasions to get a different ending and so far I have managed to get 2 but no others. The layout of every mission is seemingly random where sometimes it'll be the same one you've done before and then other times it's one you've completely never witnessed leaving you unable to memorize the layout to help you in the future which just puts you at an even further disadvantage.
The money you need to complete other quests is also incredibly painful to come across as the highest I've seen so far is $32 which when you need at least $200 to buy the dress becomes an incredibly long chore with missions that are repetitive and bland and cutscenes that also fall the same way.
The way the text is hidden also makes the game incredibly infuriating as when you find those scenes after working so hard you can't even read what is being said unless you play the game more and use stars on a completely separate run through of the game to reveal it but then you also have the risk of not getting those scenes again.
Overall the game is good in theory and most of it is pretty fun however the difficulty of it completely ruins the game for me and therefore the execution of the game is a pretty big let down, and if you're looking to play this game and spend time on it then you must have patience and the ability to not get bored of extremely repetitive gameplay otherwise I would not recommend you play this game.
No hate to the creator of it I just personally did not enjoy this game and found it way too unnecessarily difficult for what it is.
Thanks for playing! It's unfortunate that the difficulty was off-putting and led to a bad experience, the various mechanics of my games can be obtuse for players at times. This was my first major project and I think I've gotten a bit better at making things more accessible since. The hidden text was probably not the best decision, I haven't brought it back in any of my other works.
If you want to try the game with a bit of a power boost, you can modify your save file to get more stars, it's located in C:\Users\*USERNAME*\AppData\LocalLow\Impy\Sweeper. Set all map awards to "true" in the awards.sav file to get more starting options. It's always disheartening to hear from players who are enjoying the premise of one of my projects but find some aspects of the gameplay troublesome, I'm sorry about that.
Thanks for actually taking the time to respond I appreciate that. I hope I didn't offend you at all like I said the artstyle, the music and the overall idea of the game is actually really great and very very interesting and I can tell you put a lot of work into it and I love that! It's just the difficulty of it that put me off unfortunately.
Thank you for the suggestion as well I might give that a try soon! Again I hope I didn't offend you or anything that wasn't my intent I just wanted to give my thoughts! I've been meaning to try out some of your other games so I'll have to give your more recent one's a shot sometime soon as well.
And no need to be sorry at the end of the day you can only learn from these things and I'm happy to give some sort of feedback and I just hope I didn't come off as mean or rude or anything as this is a very interesting game just with some unfortunate issues that make it way too challenging!
I always appreciate constructive criticism, especially when it's clear that the player was actively engaged. I'm happy to see your response! My games are quite niche in terms of how they are played, and the stories they tell, so they can't (and weren't meant to) reach absolutely everyone, but I do try to get a few more players on board when I see an opportunity. Difficulty is something that I can offer more options for on my end to allow more players to have fun, so it's certainly a very reasonable concern!
Try some of my other games if you have the time, perhaps one of them can offer a more fulfilling experience!
