So - I strongly recommend a MIDI controller if you don't have one - it can be a more natural way to write music.

The vibe sounds right. The cello is well written.

I think it suffers from the fact that it is scored out in MuseScore4 - which really is more of a scoring/prototyping software. At least, that's how I use it. I perform with my keyboard. Though, I also mix in live instruments - but not everyone has that.

I think your second section sounds nice too. I'd really love to hear it in a more natural mix.

I agree with everything you've said here.

I decided to experiment with the MuseScore instruments simply because I was curious what the end result would look like. While I'm happy with this submission as a composition, I do feel the instruments don't quite do it justice, as others have mentioned. Hopefully in the future I can track this with live musicians or better sounding virtual strings. But for now, lesson learned.
