I played the first version of this game a while ago and put the update on my list of games to go back to.
While I find the art still very beautiful, I have to say the story regarding the college feels like a massive downgrade. While I'm biased against it since I just am not a fan of "gain school" stuff, I also think it stifles what could be nice character development in exchange for the convenience of having the characters all be roommates. Personally, I think another rewrite would be beneficial since the game itself is very pretty. But I think that the characters should be a bit more separate at least initially and instead of a class where you're forced to gain weight, make it less ham-fisted and be a product of the main character/player's desires so it makes sense why the player has so much agency in their gains. Have the characters grapple with the gain and have the characters develop alongside their waistline.
At the end of the day I'm not asking for the best written game ever in order to get invested in it. I can't speak for everyone, but personally I think keeping it a bit more grounded would help keep me invested in the characters. I would love to see more from this game, and I hope you keep at it.
Also, please change either the textbox color, or the color of the functions at the bottom of the screen, because white-on-white makes it absolutely impossible to see.
