Hi @Skiptron,

Thank you for your bug report regarding the cards “48018” and “48014”.

The issue you encountered occurs because “48018” does not have an “attack” label. As a result, the damage dealt by “48018” is considered to come from the card itself rather than from your hero. Therefore, the condition “After you defeat an enemy” on “48014” is not met.

It’s not unusual for event cards that deal damage to lack an “attack” label in this game. For example, cards like “21042” and “42029” also deal damage without triggering certain conditions, such as checking for the Guard keyword or causing retaliate damage.

I am not entirely certain if this resolution is correct. If you find any FAQs or documentation that clarify this interaction, please let me know. If you strongly believe this is incorrect, I will consider updating “48018” to ensure it deals damage as if it were from the hero to resolve this issue.

I look forward to your response!

“48014” Change of Fortune

After you defeat an enemy during the villain phase, exhaust this card -> draw 2 cards.

“48018” Riposte

Hero Interrupt (defense): When your hero defends against an attack, it gets +2 DEF for that attack. If you take no damage from that attack, deal 3 damage to the attacking enemy.

Thanks for the explanation! Riposte deals damage that defeats the enemy, so Change of Fortune should trigger. I’ve confirmed this interaction with the community as well.

Thanks for considering this!

Hi @Skiptron,

Thank you for your confirmation and for engaging with the community on this!

You are correct that damage from an event card should be considered as being performed by the player’s identity, even if it does not have an “attack” label. Additionally, damage from an upgrade card attached to an identity should also be regarded as being performed by that identity.

We will update the engine to support these interactions in the next version.

Thank you for your valuable input!
