Maybe the way jellyfish shock you, both in the literal sense of people's reaction to his appearance but also the way he can't help but hurt the player more then he might have wanted when he was trying to get them to stay in the cabin with him, this mirroring the fact that jellyfish just kinda shock you whenever you touch them.
(Disclaimer: I've only gotten the neutral ending and don't know too much about his character)
