1. Hi there! What's your name? Want to introduce yourself?
I’m Randall! I’m in my 30s, have 2 boys (both big on indie video games (not so much AAA titles), and over the years I’ve produced and published music works. (2 being chiptune albums)
2. Did you participate in the last jam we held? If so, what do you plan on doing better this time? If not, what's your reason for joining?
3. What games are your favorites? Did any of them inspire you, or made you want to make your own?
I have so many. Mario games. Old DOS games of varying genres. FPS ones, especially original Doom. I used to create levels in Doom and Duke Nukem 3D as well as maps in Warcraft 2 decades ago and have always wanted to make my own games.
4. Do you have experience with game development? What did you do/with what engine?
When I was younger I dabbled in Commodore Basic and tried programming a simple interactive fiction/adventure game but never finished it. (It somehow got deleted) I’m just learning c#/Unity.
5. Tell us about something you're passionate about!
Challenging myself to learn/try new creative endeavors and share my works with others so they can enjoy and perhaps be inspired.
6. What are your goals for this game jam?
For returning jammers:

my goals are to make my first game, a minimalist horror in ASCII art using Codepage 437 font. (ie old school MS-DOS) I’m using Kroz as some inspiration while also planning to create my own unique style. After I create all the color combinations of the font characters in tilesets my other goal is to offer them on my page for others to use. Each character is 8x16 and my challenge to myself is to create using these rectangular characters and colors rather than just pure square pixel art.
