I am in this camp with you that this is more somber because she stumbles at the start, and there's like several 'legs' of the video, you did right to have it shift gears approximately at 1:44, 2:14, and you have a similar end thing like mine at the last five seconds as he has a last-vision of her turning to smile.
Felt right, of course i was partial to this way of doing it so some bias there but well done.
