Have you tried settings and toggling the NSFW choice by putting it on? That could be it since it sounded very similar to my problem before.
Okay, I figured it out. I paid for the game, but for some reason only the SFW version was available to download. I had to pay another 5 USD which is kind of annoying but nbd. I just hope that money actually goes to the creator.
