as far as i'm aware every puzzle in the game is made in such a way that it has a clean logic chain for the solution , sure some are more complicated then others but i don't think there was a single puzzle where the solution was just random or "try everything" based. 

Wich puzzles are you referring to ?

call me stupid the signs were already killing me. I was too scared to move them around too much so I had to use some guides.

Ig my discofort in running through the forest multiple times to trial and error didn't help- I just didn't want to keep running, it's a bit scary because I do not have the heart for anything mildly horror, but I really didn't want to do the permutations as well.

Oh yeah, I also interpreted the sign directions thing initially as pointing to the objective direction from which the sign is, rather than having to take account of obstacles.

ahahahah yea i guess the forest puzzle had a degree of interpretation but that's where the juice is at !

The atmosphere really hit the perfect spot between discomfort and fear , wonderful :D
