Sleep with the door open to the room where the main character stays. By door, I mean the door that closes on its own when you enter the room.
I managed to figure it out, thanks, the door closes automatically but if you move quickly between the room and the tile where the door is it will eventually stay open
Press enter one step before the door.
Well that sure is easier, I hope any other people who're struggling with this part see this and don't brute force it like I did
