Hello, everyone! Here's a quick update on what I’ve been working on for HOV, my upcoming adult action-adventure blending side-scroller and RTS gameplay:

Character Model Update

I’ve changed the main character model to one created by the incredibly talented Ryan Reos. His artistry and skill in character modeling have brought a new level of life to the project, and I’m excited for you all to see it in action.

Dash System Improvements

The dash system is coming together! I’ve implemented several animations to make it feel smooth and responsive. Here’s what’s working so far:

  • Air Dash
  • Ground Dash
  • Backward Slide
  • Forward Slide

Each move flows seamlessly, adding dynamic movement options to gameplay.

Damage System

The foundation for the damage system is complete. While it’s functional, I’m holding off on showcasing it until the combat system is ready. Stay tuned for more updates when it all comes together!

Basic Systems in Progress

Work is ongoing for the following systems:

  • Basic Weapon/Combat System: Designing attacks and combos for a satisfying combat experience.
  • AI System: Crafting intelligent enemies to challenge and engage players.

Gamepad Support

Gamepad functionality has been added to the side-scroller mode. It’s been great to see how it enhances the overall feel of the gameplay, and I’ll continue to refine it as development progresses.
