I Love how through Huxley reading Dahila's diary we learn that she wasn't always the way she is now (unless I misinterpreted her story) She lived with another toy that mistreated her and caused her initial injuries. When she says " that (the owner) wouldn't have gotten rid of her unless she deserved it." She learns that violence isn't immediately punished, because when she was pushed off the house "we" didn't do anything to remedy the situation. So now that she's the favorite, she controls what she can through threats and manipulation, because she's seen that it works and isn't punished unless she does something that angers us directly. Like a victim becoming the abuser, a never-ending cycle of violence in an attempt to have control over her life and surroundings. Which is profound considering she fully believes that herself worth is attached to how much we love her. Any threat to the fragile hierarchy in the house is stopped immediately if she feels it threatens her position. Huxley only threatens her because he's distinctly more human looking, while Whiskers is treated like an animal. The cycle starts anew if you enable her and choose to save Huxley after he kills Dahila. Both are a product of the environment we put them in and the actions we choose to do or not do. Either way no one's happy.
I really love Huxley tho , I think he's my favorite and fanart is definitely on its way!! ^w^
