I requested a refund through PayPal. I bought this game through this site, but your game does not recognize it because I didn't buy it through Steam.
The game requires the Steam client to function properly, as explained in the readme file.
After activating the key, ensure the Steam client is running before launching the executable file for it to work as intended.
